Questions potters actually ask
- Is Clayista really free right now?
- Yes. Everything you can see in the studio today is open while we are in early access, and there is no card to enter. We are still learning which parts potters lean on hardest, and that is easier to learn when nothing is locked. The clay weight calculator will stay free permanently regardless of what happens to the other tiers.
- Will you charge me later without warning?
- No. When paid plans switch on you will get an email first, and anyone who signed up during early access keeps founding-member pricing for as long as the subscription stays active. Plans cancel from a link in your account, and your designs stay yours whether you pay or not.
- Do fired previews match my kiln exactly?
- No, and be suspicious of anyone who says otherwise. A preview is a calibrated approximation built from glaze behaviour and real fired samples. Application thickness, firing schedule, kiln atmosphere, and where the pot sat on the shelf will all move the result. Use it to make composition decisions — where the band sits, whether the pattern reads on your curve — and keep firing test tiles for chemistry. Your kiln gets the final word.
- Can I sell pottery I design here?
- Yes. Your designs are yours, and pots you throw are your work — selling them never requires our permission. A commercial tier with pro features for people running a production line comes later, but it is about batch sheets and unbranded client pages, not about buying the right to sell your own pottery.
- What do I need to run it?
- A current browser on a laptop or tablet. The 3D studio wants a real pointer and a bit of screen, so that is where shaping and glazing feel best. On a phone you can view your designs, adjust sliders, and keep the journal going with photos while your hands are still dirty.
- How do print orders work?
- Design a stamp or a rib, add it to the cart, and check out in one page. We print it in PLA or PETG, usually within five business days, then ship it in the US with tracking. There is a $20 minimum on tools before shipping, which is what batching a few of them is for.
